Beginning in early December of 2014, SAI Global conducted a survey among compliance professionals in the Healthcare Provider industry. Respondents were asked questions relating to budget and priority areas for their compliance departments in 2015. Survey respondents came from organizations across the U.S. representing nearly every state, ranging in size from larger healthcare systems with over 1,000 beds to critical access hospitals, as well as a variety of other healthcare provider organizations including physicians’ groups, behavioral health, laboratories, nursing homes, home health providers, and long term care facilities.

Beginning in early December 2014, SAI Global Compliance conducted a survey among compliance professionals in the Financial Services industry. Respondents were asked questions relating to budget and priority areas for their compliance departments in 2015. A broad assortment of compliance professionals responded to the survey, representing a variety of financial services organizations from across the U.S., ranging in size from organizations with less than $2 billion in assets all the way up to organizations with assets greater than $100 billion.

A wide variety of compliance professionals responded to the survey, representing organizations from across the U.S. and ranging in size from smaller organizations with annual revenues less than $500 million, on up to larger organizations with annual revenues greater than $5 billion.

Respondents were asked questions relating to budget and priority areas for their compliance departments in 2015. For our 2015 , a wide variety of compliance professionals responded, representing organizations from across the U.S., evenly distributed in size from smaller health plans with less than 25,000 members, up to larger health plans with over one million members.

Managing low-dollar, high-volume claim denials associated with outpatient procedures is a challenge for many hospitals because of the expense involved in manually reviewing such denials. These denials are often the source of “hidden loss” for hospitals. For some hospitals, the most practical, cost-effective approach for managing low-dollar, high-volume claim denials will include the use of automated systems to monitor and highlight denials and expose trends.
