Ex-employees Able to Access Customer Database

The New Zealand Herald reports that former Telecom employees have been able to access a database of customer information months after ceasing to work for the telecommunications company. Consequently, the adequacy of Telecom’s security policies have reportedly come into question as the company fields criticism about a recent privacy breach. Telecom retail chief executive Alan Gourdie has reportedly stated that  “Telecom has detailed security policies and practices in place that we review regularly and update”, but former employees have detailed allegations that access and password protection controls were far from secure.
