Directors Guilty of Paying Bribes to Govt Officials to Secure Contracts

The UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has announced that Mabey & Johnson Ltd directors Charles Forsyth and David Mabey have been found guilty of “inflating the contract price for the supply of steel bridges in order to provide kickbacks to the Iraqi government of Saddam Hussein”. Forsyth and Mabey made illegal payments amounting to over €420,000 to Irag in 2001-2002 despite United Nations sanctions.
