12 August 2011
According to its second quarter filings, Goldman Sachs is under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for alleged Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations. The SEC is reportedly looking into Goldman’s dealings with the Libyan Investment Authority. In January, the SEC also opened up a general investigation into whether banks, hedge funds, and private-equity groups were paying agents to win the business of government-run funds.
